2022
Crufts 2022 is now over for another year and for our Danesford members who competed, demonstrated and helped out, we now have a few pictures to share your special time with all our club members.
On Thursday flying the flag for the Manchester Terriers Obreedience Team we had Ann Harrison and her dog Sophie, Chris Harrison and his dog Teal and Lesley Olbinson and her dog Grace(Reserve). After qualifying for Crufts for the third time the team went on to win the Obreedience Final.
On Saturday Ann and her dog Ash competed in the KC Good Citizens Pre-Beginners Stakes and out of 29 entrants finished in 6th place with a score of 3 3/4 points.
Lesley Olbinson and Grace also achieved 2nd place in a strong open class behind The Best of Breed winner.
Jackie Laverty and her rescue dog Tully was reserve for the Northern Inter Regional Supporters Group, and also gave a display with Tully to the audience.
On Friday and Saturday Jodie Parry and her rescue dog Megan took part in the KC Gold Good Citizen Display Team which shows the audience how to train your pet dog. Megan had a starring role where she had to stand on her back legs whilst the 54321 count down happened. She also appeared in "On The Money" where she had to do an emergency stop on a £5 note in the middle of the ring. Smart Megan went on to do it again on a £10 note. Lots of treats for Megan. Megan also showed how amazing rescue dogs can be in the "The Rescue Agility" representing Valgrays Border Collie Rescue.
On Saturday Alison Gresty and her dog Trader (his first time at Crufts) were competing in the creme de la creme of obedience the "Dog Championship". After a run off Alison and Trader finished in 3rd place.
On Sunday it was the "Bitch Championship" and Alison competing with her dog Dani again after a very strong entry finished in 3rd place.
We also had members who gave their time and experience by contributing to the smooth running of the Crufts show
Yvonne Kelsall and her dog Vikki helping out with the KC Gold Display team
Hilda Lund and her dog Cleo promoting "Pets as Therapy Dogs"
Kim Lyddon judging Heel to Music and Freestyle Routines
Well done everyone, Gwynneth your trainer and the Danesford Club are very proud of you all and your dogs
