Crufts dog show is with us again, and Danesford Obedience Dog Training Club once again have a number of members competing at this prestigious event.
Danesford has always supported development of good dog ownership, and train to Kennel Club standards . The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme ( KCGCDS) is a fundamental part of responsible dog ownership. As part of their commitment to this scheme, Danesford encourages owners to enter obedience competitions. The KCGSDS Special Pre Beginner obedience Stakes is a national competition for owners and dogs new to competition obedience, open to all dog clubs. Competitions are held all over the country and they cumulate in the national final at Crufts. In the national semi finals Danesford had 6 competitors, and of the 20 that qualified for the Crufts final, Danesford have 5 dogs in the final and first reserve.
The members that are going to Crufts 2015 and pictured below are as follows:
Paige Jepson with Poppy and Puzzle. 17 year old Paige is at Crufts for the 4th time. This year she is competing with Puzzle( Bumbleridges Jigsaw- bred by Sue) in the breed class. She will also be competing with Poppy in - the Young Kennel Club Grooming and Handling competitions.
Sue Nicholls-Ward with Mattie. Mattie (full name is Ch. Bumbleridge’s Naughty ‘N’ Nice JW, ShCM.) Veteran Dog breed class. No stranger to Crufts, Sue is a well known breeder of Bearded Collies and International Breed Judge .
Jodie Parry with Deva has qualified for the final of KCGSDS Special Pre Beginner obedience Stakes.

Michelle Dakin – has 2 dogs in the KCGSDS Special Pre Beginner obedience Stakes . Donny (Jayrock Alabama Walkin') Boston Terrier nearly 8 years old and Tatty Tedwood .
Diane Caroll & Miss Jessie Bess (WSD) has qualified for the final of KCGSDS Special Pre Beginner obedience Stakes also competing in the KCGSDS Special Pre Beginner obedience Stakes are Lesley Harvey & Highcrest Pride (Labrador) and Mandy Cain with Teyla.
All the club members wish all competitors and dogs the best of luck, and enjoy yourselves!
Classes held at Mossley village hall continued to help pet owners train their dogs, again encompassing the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme to promote and encourage responsible dog ownership. While competition obedience, agility, showing, Trials, rally etc are still encouraged, it is the support and training of local pet owners and their dogs that is the focus of this club, now in its 43rd year.
